讲座摘要:

Electric and electric hybrid vehicles (EVs and HEVs) are considered among the most promising technologies to effectively improve fuel economy and lower emissions. This lecture provides a broad understanding of such vehicles and related technologies, design, and challenges. We look into EVs and HEVs powertrain and chassis technologies, component modeling, vehicle propulsion and dynamics, and energy management and control. The topics include:

1.      Introduction:  Development rational, alternative fuels, alternative powertrain technologies

2.      Electric and Hybrid Powertrain Technologies: General layouts and classifications, battery technology, motor and controller technology

3.      Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Body and Chassis Design: Automotive body and chassis fundamentals, different types of structural systems, specific considerations in body and chassis design of EVs and HEVs

4.       Modeling and Analysis of Modern Electric and Hybrid Electric Powertrains: Concepts and terminology, vehicle Kinematics, longitudinal dynamics equation of motion, vehicle propulsion modeling and analysis.

5.       Control of Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dynamics:  Fundamentals of vehicle dynamic control (VDC) systems, VDC implementation on EVs and HEVs

6.       Energy/Power Allocation and Management: Power/energy management controllers, rule-based control strategies, optimization-based control methods
